FBGameFilm Game Filming Tips
The earlier you being thinking of your game videos as a recruiting tool, the better your end result will cater to your target market - College Coaches. You can optimize your videos by omitting any unwanted and time-wasting content, providing an efficient user experience to the recruiter. It's a fact - better videos get more attention!
Here are some tips to keep in mind when filming:
- Though we accept all of the media types mentioned above, the preferred
video format has the following attributes:
- AVI format on CD
- 320 x 240 resolution
- Medium Quality
- No Audio
- Please give the games descriptive title names (e.g., NorthvSmithtown_Sept102007); this will make it easier for FBGameFilm staff to organize your videos and potentially lessen your need to edit the game file names after they have been uploaded.
- Limiting time helps the quality of your video - game videos should have
a maximum runtime of 45 minutes.
- Shorter videos = faster upload to site.
- Do not film halftime or time between quarters.
- Stop filming when the referees are "discussing" flags.
- There is no need to tape the coin toss - your captains can be identified by the description you provide via your account after the game has been uploaded.
- Show the scoreboard after scores and at the end of quarters.
- Cleary label the video with the teams that took part in the game.
